One of our frequent questions is “What class(es) should I take?

A lot of what to take depends on your interests in photography. We are putting together “tracts” to guide you into the the classes that will help you achieve your goals. Please check the meetup calendar to see when each of these classes are scheduled.

General photography -
DSLR Operation and Exposure Basics: This is where everyone with a DSLR should start! Instructor Peggy Farren simplifies exposure - which is the foundation of all of photography! You really need to understand this so take this class twice and practice!

Composition: Beginners to professionals really need to repeat this workshop several times! Composition is the key to making a picture pleasing and more interesting.

DSLR 2: Metering, drive modes, focal points and focus modes, white balance. We’ll build on what we learned in DSLR Exposure to give you a good understanding of the important technical parts of photography.

The Outdoor Portrait: Flash Basics: Nature and Portrait photographers alike need to learn basic flash photography. Learn to balance your flash with your backgrounds to avoid that “flashy” look. Pop up and Speedlight basics, as well as Off Camera Flash (OCF) are covered in this hands-on workshop with a model for practice!
