What will I learn during the Photo Adventure? At every step of your Photo Adventure, Peggy will be at your side, sharing her techniques. You will receive personal attention and allow you to learn at your own pace. We will cover: Landscape and nature photography Night photography and streaking lights. On and off camera flash Exposure bracketing for HDR Long exposure photography Subject isolation, composition, filters and more. Advanced techniques tailored to your level of knowledge. HDR editing Photoshop or Elements – Layers, Textures and Blending Modes What equipment should I bring? This Photo Retreat encompasses a wide range of subject matter. We suggest: DSLR camera or advance compact that can shoot in manual. Ideally, lenses to provide the equivalent coverage of full frame lenses from 24mm to 300 mm or longer. For “crop” DSLRs, this means lenses in the range of 17mm to 200mm or longer. A circular polarizer (also known as a CPL filter) if you own one. Neutral Density filter(s) if you have one. If you have a 2+ or more stop ND filter, we can do silky water at our sunset pier photoshoot. If you don’t have filters, they are not necessary. Just fun! Flash if you have one. If not, your pop up flash will do. Tripod – lightweight – you’ll have to carry your own equipment. Remote shutter release. Useful, but your camera’s timer will suffice in a pinch. Memory cards – bring LOTS! Batteries – you will need spares. Chargers for everything Laptop with Photoshop or PS Elements and Photomatix installed. You can get 30 day trial version of Photoshop or PS Elements here: http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html You can get a 30 day trial version of Photomatix here: http://www.plimus.com/jsp/redirect.jsp?contractId=2308881&referrer=1047734 Photomatix Essential is fine for our uses. Should you try Photoshop or Elements? If you are not familiar with either, I suggest PS Elements. It’s much more user friendly. It’s also inexpensive compared to regular Photoshop. Questions?
