Private boat trip to photograph the Milky Way over the Cape Romano dome homes.
We finally found a captain willing to take us out in the middle of the night but this is our only chance!
The captain will take us the island of Cape Romano, where we will set up. Joe Fitzpatrick will bring a powerful flashlight so we can light up the Dome Home while photographing the Milky Way behind/above it! So exciting!

This is a once in a lifetime event. The Milky Way is only visible during the late spring/summer every year. And who knows how long the dome home will be there?
The dome homes were built in the 1980s and are slowly being washed out to sea. We lost two of the six during hurricane Irma!
Joe Fitzpatrick will be there to guide you with your night sky photography. Please be comfortable with shooting in the manual mode.
You’ll need a sturdy tripod, a shutter release cable and a fast lens. It’s best if you have a lens that has an aperture of F2.8 or wider.
Bug gear is highly recommended. Those no-seeums and mosquitoes will be out in force if there is no wind! This is the bug jacket that I own. It’s a great price and works well:
