First Steps – Lyn put together a free downloadable checklist just for YOU!
- Know your audience.
- Who is your ideal customer? Who do you want to sell to?
- How can I help this person?
What is their day like?
Where are their challenges?
- How can I help this person?
- Fashion your podcast around these issues. Make them WANT to listen because you answer questions that are important to them.
- Pay attention to questions your customers ask you. If you hear the same question repeatedly, it would make a good podcast topic.
- Who is your ideal customer? Who do you want to sell to?
- Choose your format.
Topic-based monologue, Interview based, Q & A, or a mixture of all of these.
- Be consistent. It doesn’t matter if you produce a daily, weekly, or monthly podcast, you need to train your audience to come and look for you with regularity.
- The length of your podcast is not important.
“Seek to be interesting rather than fill a random time limit.”
- Promote your podcast with email, newsletter, social media, etc.
“The gatekeepers of social media can keep your audience from seeing you. Don’t rely on only one form of promotion.”
