FREE PHOTOWALK - Birds on the Beach
When: 8:00 AM - 10 AM, Sunday, January 22, 2012
Where: Bunche Beach Preserve, 18201 John Morris Road, Fort Myers, FL 33908
Bunche Beach is a nature photographer’s dream. Join Joe Fitzpatrick and Ed Malawskey on the broad, sandy flats and get up close to a seemingly endless variety of shore and wading birds. We will arrive on a rising tide so the flats will be above water and the birds will be moving towards shore as the photowalk progresses.
You will be walking through dry sand, wet sand, very wet sand, and very, very wet sand. You might want to traverse the occasional shallow (1″-2″) pool of water for the very best shots. Plan to wear footwear that you don’t mind getting a bit wet, old sneakers for example. Flip flops don’t work well; the very wet sand tends to pull them off your feet.
Photowalks are not classes. They are fun gatherings of friendly photographers of all skill levels who share knowledge and experiences. Join our friendly group, enjoy a great morning, meet other photographers, and come away with unique images to share.
Bunche Beach Preserve is a Lee County Parks Facility, admission is free, parking is $1:00 per hour. Restroom facilities are available on site. More info on the Preserve can be found at http://www.leeparks.org/facility-info/facil…
