When Naples was developed in 1889, everything centered around this area. Julius (Junkie) Fleischmann of Fleischmann’s Yeast Fame was the primary developer who turned 3rd Street South into a shopping and dining hub. It’s now filled with restaurants, art galleries and high end shopping, as well as the few historical buildings that Naples has left.
