About the Photographer
- Picked up a camera at age 33 as a creative outlet
- Always interested in fine art photography
- Photographed some weddings and promotional events - “Anything to make a buck.”
- Started doing art shows in Venice, CA with images of sunsets, the pier, old buildings, etc.
- First started aerial shots of Marina Del Ray as it was being developed
- Spent many years doing wide angle (4×5) landscapes of the National Parks
- Created a series of aerial photos of all major league baseball stadiums and football stadiums

Barry’s Photos and Equipment
- Main camera is a Pentax 6mm x 7mm
- Shoots in 8×10 or 11×14 format, film, 10 shots per roll
- Film purchased in Miami
- Sent to Massachusetts for initial processing into transparencies
- Transparencies sent to Bonita Springs (G & H Printing) for retouching
- Retouched images are then sent to Hi-Tech for printing
- Prints are matted and framed by Barry at home

Art Shows
- Expensive start-up and travel costs, you need to invest in order to sell
- Used to travel around the country and sell at shows all year
- Magazine for art shows: Sunshine Artist
- Found a niche on Marco Island
- Marco Island Farmer’s Market - every Wednesday 7am - 2pm from Nov-Easter
- thousands of people every week
- sells only aerial photos of Marco Island

“People love to buy pictures of their island.”

- vendors are juried in, mostly locals
- Other art shows on Marco Island
- Art Center on weekends
- Episcopal Church either Monday-Tuesday or Thursday-Friday
-takes about 45 minutes to an hour to set up
- average sales per week are about $1000
